I love Cinefix lists, because they’re never the 10 you expect and they’re always brilliantly explained.

Ah, I was waiting for The French Connection! I think I’d actually rate it higher than Bullit, but I’ll probably choose differently if you’d ask me again tomorrow.

The best thing about the chase scenes from Bullitt and The French Connection is that their fame dupes people in to watching what they think are action movies that are actually gritty 70s cop dramas.

Haven’t had a chance to watch the video, but here are some of my favorites, in no particular order, except for number the first one:

The Blues Brothers, Bullitt (of course), The Seven-Ups, The French Connection

You just pointed out a gross oversight on their list

Which one? Sometimes, these sorts of lists are good because they bring your attention to things that are awesome, but outside the mainstream. But sometimes, you’ve just gotta go with what everybody agrees on.

Blues Brothers. I wouldn’t change their top 10, because Cinefix doesn’t just make a top 10 list, but break the topic into subsections and choose a “best” for each, along with a number of honorable mentions. This is part of why I like their lists, they don’t just create a simple top 10 but dive deep into the topic (probably best demonstrated in this top 10 ). This one for example started with “best chase film/chase that was remade in a modern film,” then went on to include things like “best motorcycle chase” (with a very surprising winner), “best chase from the classic era” (as in before color film/sound was a thing), “best James Bond chase,” “best foot chase,” and so on. But Blues Brothers deserved a mention in some form in there somewhere.
